The story of Moors End starts with too many tomatoes. Back in 1973, Sue and Steve got married and Sue started a vegetable garden at the site of the Slosek family's former Nantucket Dairy. At the end of tomato season they didn’t know what to do with all the extra harvest. So, in the interest of not letting it go to waste, they loaded up the extra tomatoes in a wheelbarrow and sold it by the roadside. This gave them the idea to continue to serve the local demand for fresh, locally-grown produce. Steve attended Stockbridge School of Agriculture on his GI Bill, and their children Sam and Abby soon came along. Since then, Moors End has continued to expand with more greenhouses, more variety, and family-focused events for our local community.
